Say Good-bye

Say Good-bye

Say good-bye to your stuffed animals
so long to the passions of youth
Pick you your confidence
and pack it next to your wits
Walk through the door
and move into your life

Perfume yourself with humor
but carry your sensibility close
No one likes a smart ass

Let your enthusiasm transport you
while allowing your intelligence to monitor speed
Exercise caution
but don’t forget to give spontaneity an occasional workout

Allow love to be your calling card
make friendship your phone number

and live in peace

Road

Road

There’s an unmapped road in your future
traveled now only by fog
You’re alone in your mind
and you’re the same on this road

This way has many names
destiny
fate
karma

And although many walk
its ways are different for each
and no one’s destination is the same

Confusing and brutal
potholed and smooth

And always the question
“Am I on the right street?”

There’s only one direction on this one way path
forward

into the unknown
