Heart Less Tin Man
I fell in love with a heart less tin man
on my travels down a yellow road
that should have been red
He was made of the metal of his forefathers
Rusted with their beliefs
his nuts and screws
stiff with limitations
Oil loosened his limbs
Massaged in
he began to dance and shine
He was still in search of his beat though
and we were hollow without it
We skipped down that path one brick too long
and fell
hollow and clattering
My tornado dream wasn't his
and it could no longer hold me
No clicking heels wish
could lift empty hearts
any more than an empty house
With a kiss I was swept away on the wind
and he followed the sound of his heart
calling
