Costumes And Masks

Costumes And Masks

Fresh skin slipping into velvet
soft across my breasts
Climbing into satin
smooth along my thighs
Arms running through gauntlets
snugly embraced

I accent the outside with symbols of what I want inside
Feeding my spirit through my pores
I attempt to incorporate new meaning into my dna

My limbs are coils
snakes of strength
My abdomen is an earthquake
constantly reshaping my landscape
My hips are my root my axis my center
spinning and shifting and pounding
yet balances as a spider on her web in a storm

Wearing the dance till sweat molds it as my flesh
and I become my desire

I dance till I live
and live till I dance no more
