My desk is clean
the wood strong
Favorite pen
favorite notebook
front and center
My
"Keep Calm
Drink Tea
And Write A Poem"
mug is steaming
with Prince Of Wales
And I sit
and wait
and doodle
and try a poetry pull
and then another
Slowly I realize
that despite
my well planned
and well placed accoutrements
the Muse
has stood me up
