Beyond My Tattoo
Behind bars
both those I built
and those erected by others
I pace
always back
never forth
attempting to ignore the taunts
that tempt my tolerance
Guilt thrown at me
Startled
I bare my fangs reflexively
roaring in the face of manipulation
My muscles brace to run
over
under
around
thru
my tattoo
Into the future's wilderness I go
flushing guilt down a clear creek
Fearful freedom I embrace
no longer caged
all animal
