Love Lost And Searched For
High school sweethearts
meet at tenth reunion
then never again
One is gone
the other curious
reaching out
to the offspring
Should the child tell the truth
tell the tale
of the other heart
that wasn’t so sweet
Lie to save the half century old memories
of a sentimental senior citizen
or tell the truthful tale
thereby the grace of dumb luck
your high school love did not take you
