Bottled

We’re meant to be eaten
pluck off the vine
pop in the mouth

But that wasn’t good enough
for you

Peel us
crush us
mix us with toxins
that mutate us
you don’t care
you can’t hear us scream
locked away
for years
for centuries

You create a dogma
around us
elite
rich

And what was good of us
the natural joy
is gone
and replaced
with drunken snobbery
you clink you fine crystal

When we should be
outside
sunset
long day with friends
popped in your mouth
