The onyx empress died

Long and unrestful
her death ate at her
from her place of birthing life up
devouring in its languid pace
stomach
lungs
and finally
for dessert
heart

The onyx empress is dead

Living Night

Living Night

Exposing the magic
it dissipates in the sun
A white vampire of darkness
it dissolves in the light
even though that is what it shines night

Why worship only the light
when after all
it follows the night

Intensity
uninhibition
all wake in black
Shadows speak
and freedom dawns
when the sun turns off its light

Why fear that which releases you
Why sleep when you can live in the desire
that is only fed by onyx brightness

Why bring light
when the darkness glows so bright

The Wound

The Wound

Blending in the open sores
of my once so porous memory
is the crude of an unfinished relationship

Stirring in the puss
squeamish yellow and rank
is the finale with no ending

Brittle film over the wound
is just picked away
falling to the ground in an already decomposing mass

There can be no scar
where there is no closure
and there can be no healing
where there is only
infection

The Tree

The Tree

The trunk of you
bark soft as fur
but with the strength of
wood
moves between my thighs

I climb to your
heights
wrapping my limbs
around yours

My grip is strong
for I have never
been easy with this
position
my feet so far
off the ground

Yet your leaves entice
me to rise
higher
brushing against me
like a whisper

compelling

how high

I am dizzy
but you are still
a sturdy nature’s
pole
with only the
rustle of leaves
screaming
the ecstasy of the
climbed

The Consequences Of Jeffism

The Consequences Of Jeffism

To
purge
my
barren
bed
of
your
memory

To eviscerate
your touch
from my skin

You became
an organ
of mine
sometimes
working
inside me

How do I
dissect
that which
is only a
phantom
of the physical

No anesthetic
for I am both
surgeon
and patient

What tools
scalpel, forceps
do I use in
performing
such an
operation

Is the delicate touch
of nerve sensitive
fingers required

or
is this a job for a
master butcher
ripping out the infection
with blood painted hands

What can this
non terminal but
excruciating disease
that was the
“you” experience
give me

You waste away
my mind and heart
with distrust
and give me
the bitter backwash
of my own stupidity

Your removal
is a necessary
for malignancy
is not the norm

but
when
you
are
gone

will
the
symptoms
remain
