The Sun Circles The Earth

The Sun Circles The Earth

As the sun circles the earth
peaking through the barriers
that we build to protect ourselves
which serve to keep us hidden
from our own light
The fear of burning pleasantly
consumes our time
and we create reasons to hide
lounging in soft shadows
instead of walking out
embracing the gold
worshipping the circle of time

Threshold

Threshold

On the edge of alone and lonely
standing
a precipice with barely a line between yet so deep a fall
overlooking
knowing that only the fear of the greatest unknown
self
keeps motion still
hesitating
a leap of faith from the faithless
required
stepping through the threshold
dream to life
life to dream
one road across
built

What Lives In The Silence

What Lives In The Silence

In an eerie silence
under branches that strive in the worship of silver
forgotten tales come alive around me
and I walk with ancient myths

Hecate and her hounds are beside me
Poseidon swims through the blue midnight
the dark wind is Dionysus' laugh
and Hades rumbles the earth
as Pegasus' hooves spark on the ground

The shadows reflect like obsidian fire
the faces of those unremembered
I try to speak their holy names
but I have lost the knowledge to reason
I can only beg forgiveness
as the trees bow down to the crescent moon

Burning Gray Roses

Burning Gray Roses

Words I cannot use
lines I cannot do
prose not quite painting the picture I feel
crumpled up on thin trees
tossed into the cauldron
to be sent back to the Womb of Creativity
upon rising smoke

And as the balls of not quite right burn
they begin to bud
opening their ember edged petals
dark silver rose offerings
to the Muse of Inspiration

Autumnal Muse

Autumnal Muse

She's there;
the rainbow deep inside the green,
the chill at the heart of heat.

Some say She is the Harbinger of Death;
heralding the end of light
with Her drain on energy
and Her cold caress.

Ask Her and She'll say;
She is a Reminder of Life,
a Messenger of Rebirth,
encouraging Humanity to live in the finite
with thoughts of Infinity,
with Her earthly massage of color
and Her rejuvenating embrace
which holds the seed of spring.

WeaveWorld

WeaveWorld

Reality begins to pull
my tapestry begins to stretch
double knots slip
threads are all untying
loose become strands
edges start to fray
I did not secure the hem
and my mind falls down around me
