Sylvia's Path

Sylvia's Path    (revised)

From The Edge
The Lazarus Lady wrote:

"Every decade she does this-
rings the bell and smashes the jar of her old self,
throwing it down deep.
She's been pulled back twice,
but the third time...
ah the Trinity is indeed Holy.
She fell unhindered,
no new self caught and brought back,
only the old remained,
plummeting."

I've stood on her cliffs and wondered
if there were rocks below...
or did she land in a warm sea
and does she drown there still?

Though I've walked part of her trail,
the rest I've let overgrow.
She made her way,
she chose the fall,
as I have chosen to leave the shards of her
alone
wherever they may have landed.

In Your Shadow revised

In Your Shadow    (revised)

He held my hand
after I came into this life
First child of his child
and did not let go
till I held his hand
as he left this life for the next

I could feel his pulse still beating in my palm
when I saw your familiar face
in the land of make believe

I took comfort there
in the story you helped tell
and in mourning that you
I mourned him too

The tale touched many
and you won the prize for your part
mentioning the long departed parent of your parent
in gratitude

Then in thirty odd day your song
with its white stone mast marked Memorial
sailed through green grass
and set foot on my shore
and in those primal grunts of old but eternal sadness
I heard the echoes of Grandfathers
calling

Now I grieve a little less
The loss is not as gone
for when I see you
I see both mine and yours
in your shadow

Don't You Want To Go

Don't You Want To Go

I've never been to the moon but I believe I want to go
To walk in the extremes of passion and ice
To be blinded in the light and see clearly in the dark
To be tranquil in a sea of eruption's dust
To be wild in the land of different
To be at peace with the times gravity is lost
To believe the force of my life is not always grounded in understanding
To know it is the journey that makes me who I am

The Key To Peace

The Key To Peace

At the end of the forever between rise and set
when all that is not seen with eyes is dark
and there is no light at the end
for the tunnel has yet to be found
I want to crawl into my king of sleep
between the silks of yesterday and tomorrow
slid up beside you
slip under your arm
lay my aching mind upon your shoulder
rest my over whelmed body against you
and enter dreamtime next to you
through the beating of our hearts
in the absolute comfort for your embrace

Answering The Call Of Red Dust And Sweat

Answering The Call Of Red Dust And Sweat

Humming
the sound of Life I am connected to
Beating
the drums of ancestors
Tapping
the rhythm of continuation through my cells
Howling
the primal animal within me
Dancing
on the red dust from which sustainment comes
Sweating
in ecstatic trance meditation
Bonding
with All that is, was, and will be
Changing
shedding the unneeded
Becoming
that which is at the end of desire
