Shelter From The Storm

Here I am
in a place
that has never
felt like home

No place
has ever
felt like home

except home

and those roots
are gone

So I must
force
the growth
down
wrapping tendrils
around every
grain
by redecorating
the petals
reshaping
the leaves

I’ll make it
home
because I want it to be
home
until it actually becomes
home
