A little of red wings
a bit of the sweet syrup
and a double dose of black raspberry
Like kick from a bull
I'm up
artificial energy
mouthfuls of sugar
sparkling fake fruit
My liquid alarm
rings up my morning
jolts my afternoon
and helps me finish my evenings
As my foot taps out my days
and my hands shake through the seconds
I am beginning to wonder
if I am trying to start my heart
or stop it
