No More Fairy Tales

 Into the stockings

hung by the chimney with care

goes the beginning

of questioning

With a tooth

under the pillow goes

the first price

put on the body

A pagan ritual

drenched in the blood of a savior

tells us what our flesh is for

and to whom it belongs

We're only a princess

if we serve

and are saved

by men

and vanity

makes all single women

of a certain age

murderous whores

of youth

Tales and toons

ink and celluloid false magic

The food of infancy

the building blocks

of intellect

and interaction

Solid foods

solid facts

should be our craving

our nourishment

our foundation
