I dream of sharks
they swim with me
I swim with them
neither of us
because we want to
Their skin
like sandpaper teeth
sloughs off my useless skin
and leaves me clean
at peace
in an ocean of sleep
Their teeth
five rows of nightmares
bleed out my fears
in a stormy sea of sleep
Because we want to
both of us
with them I swim
with me they swim
sharks dreaming of me

That would be a nightmare for me! These lines had me quaking:
ReplyDelete‘Their skin

and
‘Their teeth
five rows of nightmares
bleed out my fears’.
