Let Us Prey

He felt peckish
so he hide his fur and claws
under a tuxedo and in dance shoes
and went out for a naughty evening

It never takes long to find a frolicking buffet

His food does love their rhythm

An entree with an unwanted side dish caught his eye

So he began to swirl and surround
insinuate and separate
until he was the only one at her table

He moved her outside
letting the night do the wooing

He stepped up to the moon
ready to rip out his bone china teeth
when he felt her fingers tangle through his fur
her claw slip round his throat
and as her fangs sunk into him
honor flavored his surprise and dread
for if it was his time to be the meal
at least it was to nourish someone
so full of grace

    1. I wanted the title to tie in with the last line: Prey/Pray, full of grace.
